Contributing to the Turkish industry with the high quality domestic steel it has produced since 1965, Türkiye’s first integrated flat steel producer Erdemir continues its investments that will increase its energy efficiency, production capacity and performance. In this context, the fourth coke battery with an annual capacity of 800 thousand tons, which will replace Erdemir's first and second batteries that have been in service since its establishment, is aimed to be commissioned in the 100th year of the Republic.
Will be equipped with high-tech
Considering the EU Best Available Techniques (BAT) and environmental impacts while planning its investments with a responsible production and sustainability approach, Erdemir's fourth coke battery will have many high-tech features such as dust collection filter systems and high-level automation. The new battery will increase the company's environmental performance, while reducing imported coke intake. Erdemir will also launch new investments for efficiency in the 2023-2024 period.
